Teacher Feedback:
Firstly we showed our documentary to our two teachers, to get constructive feedback on what they thought we should improve on or change:
-To improve all the sound, especially on the voice over-so that all the sound as at the same level, and could be heard clearly and easy understood so that it was all at one wave lenght.
-To do a main title at the beginning 'Attraction' Making it flirty and fun.
-To add photo's/shots of the married couple as cut a ways, to make the interview more varied and interesting.
-Get rid of black fades that we had twice in our documentary.
-Make all titles simple, similar sizes and colour that was relevant to the theme.
-Adjust voice over sound so that is was loud and clear throughout and at the same pace.
After doing these ajustments we were finished with our documentary and we were pleased with the final outcome and that everthing was as good as it could get, cut down well and shots and framing were well filmed.
Audience Feedback:
We showed our final documentary piece to many people and also uploaded it on youtube to get constructive feedback, to find out what people liked about our documentary and what people believed we should change or improve on.
When we put our video on youtube, we asked as many people as we could to watch it and comment back what they thought about our documentary honestley, we got many responces and some very postivie and constructive feedback. This is some of the comments we got back and our audience wrote for us:
1) the video was very good in going into the main issuses with attraction i think to improve the video it could include more videos of couples e.g. and elderly couple or ask young people how there feel about attraction.
2) I enjoyed the documentary showing us opinions from teens and then the older generation and an experts take on attration. I liked many things: The beginning with the lips grabbed my attention, the married couples interview and photo's of them over the years was sweet, and the different opinions, one couple believed in love at first sight and the other did not.
3) i really liked this documentary, i learnt that no-body actually really knows what atraction actually is, it's a matter of oppinion. I liked the interview with the physcologist and she had her opinions with the photos over the top relating to what she was talking about, however i would of liked to hear more music throughout to make it more fun.
4) for two college students to make a documentary i would imagine is very difficult, this documentary caught me by suprise and was really interesting and was presented brilliantly- as they are not proffesional filmers. I thought the theme was a really good idea, i like the choice of interviews, the music at the beginning was very catchy and i liked the lesbian couple as it showed a variety of sex's making it unstereotypical. The sound was a bit un steady at the beginning on youtube, but was fine throughout the rest.
I gave out a brief questionnaire to 10 people to get a range of answers and seeing what people honestley thought of our documentary, and then asked them to give me a 1-5 scale reating on the following qualities (1, being lowest. 5 being highest);
1) Informative

I also asked many people questions about our documentary, and copied some of their answers that they wrote down. The conclusions and results will be disussed in my evaluation.
1) Did you like our documentary?
Yes, i really enjoyed your documentary!
2) Explain your reasons (yes or no).
I thought it was very different from any others, as i have never heard or seen a documentary in the theme of attraction, making it one of a kind.
3) What could we improve on?
I thik the main thing you could improve on would be the sound of the voice over at the beginning it was very uneven and distracting, maybe more music included to make it more bubbly and fresh, however i did like the sound (music) at the beginning.
4) Does the theme interest you?
Yes, the theme was very interesting, as it is unusual and would interest most people.
5) After watching the introdcution 5 minuites, would you be willing to watch the full half an hour?
Definatley, i think it's a very good documentary and would love to watch more, more interviews and expert opinions.
6) Do you think our interviews worked well?
Extreemly well, the best element of your documentary! as they are all so different and i like how you have varied the age and sex's.
7) What do you think of the choice of music and voice over?
I love the choice of music, it is a song i have never heard before but grabbed my straight away, the voice over was good she sounded enthusastic and exciting with a bubbly voice.
8) Do you think our film poster relates to our documentary?
Very well, as soon as i saw it i knew it had something to do with physical, attraction or love.
9) Did you like our film poster? why?
It was my favorite element, i thought it was proffesionally took and looked really good, like a proper channel 4 poster, i think the picture is amazing, the font is perfect for channel 4 and you havent used overpowering texts or fonts and is easy to read. And the channel 4 logo is in the right place so i can tell you have researched it!
10) What are your opinions of our Radio trailer?
I thought it was OK, it didn't really grab my attention ad the girls voice was abit drowned out and a bit dull and boring.
11) Would you be willing to watch our documentary after hearing the film advert?
Yes, i enjoyed the radio trailer and after hearing clips from your documentary in it, they made my laugh so i would assume your documentary would be abit cheeky and fun.

Codes and Conventions of Print Adverts
I have studyed many Print adverts on the internet and looking through magazines, this was to give me an inisight into what the codes and conventions of print adverts are. I have been mainly focusing on channel 4 print adverts, this is because our documentry will be featured on channel 4. Posters such as Skins, Britians forgotten children, Hollyoaks etc, our poster that we have created reflects these in many ways.
Codes and Conventions of Print adverts:
-Always has a logo
-Shows what channel it is on, usualy with the channel recognisable symbol.
-Dates and times-audience no exactly hat to look for.
-One releant, eye catching image- Makes a statement, is bold and leaves an impact on the audience.
-Grabs peoples attention.
-Has a big impact on the audience.
-Noticable/creative.
-Limited texts, only afew words-not to distracting.
-Text is bold and stands out-bu does not take all the attention of the main photo.
-Slogan or tag line is often used.
Below are some Channel 4 posters, which symbolise all these codes and conventions of print adverts.

Through looking and analyising these posters, i have found out that they always use a main, central, eye catching image-which creates impact on the audience and is always very hard hitting making you want to watch the programme they are advertising-always relating to the title of the programme in an unusual and quirky way.
The text is always printed at the bottom wih a white boarder around it-making it stand ou and easy visable but not distracting from the image- it always says the time/date of programme and the name, with an edgy unusual catchy slogan line.
The channel four logo is always placed in the centre on the right hand side, so that its recognisable and obvisous to a channel 4 print advert.
Through doing this we created our own Channel 4 print advert for our documentary, we took our own photo and edited it to make it as good as possible, we created all of this on photoshop and we think it represents channel 4 and relates to our documentary very well.

Idea's for our Print Advert
We played around with many poster idea's using screne grabs from our documentary and then going out and taking pictures ourselves of things that we believed related to our documentary. We had a look at different types of slogans and tag-lines to see which one fitted well and related most to our documentary.

We took many photos of this couple who our friends of ours, and we asked them to help us out and be in photos for our documentary attraction and they really wanted to and for very keen to help. as we thought they look really good together and our both very photogenic and fun, we like the way they both contrast in the fact her hair is bright red and his bleach blonde, however in all their photos they look nice together, loved up and having a nice romantic time. We asked them to change outfits and change styles to see which one looked best and worked well and looking most proffesional.
We took many pictures to do with attraction for example; kissing, looking into each other eyes and holding hands. We also played around with changing Hayleys hair from straight to curly and changing their clothes to see what colours worked best. As a group we decided on the picture we believed to be the most relevant to our documentary and eye catching. The picture must be also similar to other channel 4 print adverts (These are shown above and below) and we believed the picture was similar to others.

Log Sheets, Edit decision List & Music
Edit Decision List:

Logging sheets:

Music choice:
We decided that as our documentary is about attraction and love, so we should use a piece of music that is very moving and lyrically relates to our piece. After looking on many different websites including www.youtube.com and www.itunes.com we found a piece of music which we believe to be appropriate for our documentary. As the lyrics relate to attraction and relationships ‘Let’s get together, baby’ ‘wanna hold you, get to know you’ we believe this would flow well with the subject of attraction. As the music is not in the charts or well known we believed that the song could be unique to our documentary as no other documentary has used this piece. The fact that the song is exciting, modern and upbeat means it suited our piece bringing it to life whilst also making it exciting and interesting. The music is also very loud, and memorable, making people want to watch it.

Narrative Script
Narrative for Media documentary
--Intro—Narrative: There are many theories, myths, laws, explanations about it, everybody knows and has heard about it- through the media, books, magazines and love songs No-one knows exactly what causes it, but attraction is the one factor that is make or break in any relationship. It completely overrides and takes over your life, and it’s certainly not something that can be learned with time. - but do we know the reasons behind attraction, do we no why and how we are attracted to certain people, by different theories, beliefs and ideas that are put forward about it.
Attraction and Love Why are we attracted to certain people? Is it their features, personality, looks, body shape, fashion sense? What is it? - Nobody seems to be very clear about it or understand it-but we all no it’s their, and according to 96% of you, you want to no more!

Narrative: Attraction is positive and warm feelings towards another individual- it refers to many experiences such as: crushes, fancying, liking an individual, admiring, lust and most importantly love.
There are three main key factors relating to attraction:
1) Physical attraction-like the famous saying ‘first impressions are the ones that count’-As you first look at and think of the word attraction what really crosses your mind? Physical and body features are probably the first conscious thought of attraction that crosses your mind. it is a special quality in a person that inspires fascination in others. It is a characteristic that provides pleasure and attracts –show photos/clips (archive) of couples looking at each other--
2) Similarities- It is about familiarity, trust, security, so the person is going to remind you of your parents or siblings as much as you yourself, sounds weird but it’s very true. ‘Birds of a feather flock together’ this famous phrase represents the similarities within a couple. Scientifically you are attracted to someone who is similar to you, have similar likes and dislikes, similar taste, similar features. –cheesy funny clips/photo’s (archive) of similar couples—
3) Reciprocity- --mutual feelings, clips (archive) footage—
